CCA COVER SERIES

Tasked with creating a series of three covers for California College of the Arts’ books highlighting three different architects, I created a design system that could be easily expanded and replicated to mimic the style of each architect’s work.
Louis Sullivan, known as the “father of modernism” became known for distinct forms found in his works.
I adapted these shapes in creating the motif used on the cover.

Richard Neutra, another famed modernist was known for his use of linear and straight lines, once again adapted into the rectangular motif.

Working in a much more organic, yet still structured way, Frank Gehry was the most expressive through his architectural works. This motif reflects his mix of fluid and structured design.

The books measure 6 in by 9 in, with a 1/2 in spine.
