Emily Mahar is a senior pursuing her BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI, where she will graduate in May 2020. Originally from Rochester, NY she moved to Providence in 2016 and has had a love for city living ever since! She hopes to one day live and work in New York City with her cat, Clary.
She has a great love for book cover design, typography, and and the intersection of digital technology and traditional media. The question of how design can influence meaning in new and effective ways is always in the back of her mind.
She has held multiple internship positions with the Art & Design department of Viking and Penguin Books in New York City. She is also a freelancer, always looking for book cover design opportunities.
Her other interests include ice cream, insects, and optical illusions.
