Prompted to illustrate and design a cover for the “Fall Books” edition of the New York Times Book Review, I chose to create the feeling of a blustery fall day with floating leaves and a cute cat climbing stacks of books in an attempt to paw a falling leaf.

Reminded to consider that the New York Times Book Review covers titles of all genres for all ages, I illustrated a cover that I felt would be appealing to a universal audience, and was blind to genre, while still exemplifying an autumnal theme.
